Spring Hill, Florida – Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope will hold its Caregiver Support Group on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 4:00 PM. The Group meets the second Thursday of every month from 4 PM to 5 PM at the Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope’s Spring Hill Center located at 10441 Quality Drive, Suite 203 in the Medical Arts Building next Spring Hill Hospital.

Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope in New Port Richey to Hold Bi-Weekly General Cancer Support Group Meeting
New Port Richey, Florida – The Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope has announced that its New Port Richey center will host its regular General Cancer Support Group meeting on Tuesday, March 23, at 6 PM.
The group meets every other Tuesday. The meeting will be held in the New Port Richey center at 8763 River Crossing Boulevard, New Port Richey, Florida. The support groups at Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope’s New Port Richey center are conducted by a licensed clinical social worker. The bi-weekly sessions cover a wide range of topics and are conducted by a licensed clinical social worker. Participants are provided with useful educational material about cancer and cancer treatment. Survivors and family members will be given the opportunity to raise concerns about their condition and learn what others are feeling and what they experience. Best of all, they will learn about the joy of new friendship and learn that they are not alone.

Florida Cancer Institute – New Hope To Hold Women’s Breast Cancer Support Group
Brooksville, Florida – The Florida Cancer Institute – New Hope has announced that it will host a monthly women’s breast cancer support group on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. The support group will meet at its Center at 7154 Medical Center Drive, Spring Hill, Florida 34608. Light refreshments will be served. Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope to Hold Regular Prostate Cancer Support Group
Brooksville, Florida – The Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope will hold its regular “Man to Man” prostate cancer support group on Monday evening, April 5, 2010 at 6:00 PM. Cosponsored by the American Cancer Society, “Man to Man” meets on the first Monday of every month from 6 PM to 7 PM at the Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope’s Brooksville Center located at 7154 Medical Center Drive, off Kadri Boulevard, across from the High Point Community. Topics that are frequently discussed are: the importance of early detection, signs and symptoms of prostate cancer, prognosis, disease stages, incontinence, impotence, the various treatment options including hormone therapy and medications, and especially the latest research and treatment modalities. Speakers include physicians, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, social workers and others.

This month’s program will be presented by a member of the American Cancer Society.

New Port Richey, Florida – Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope has announced that they are now hosting the American Cancer Society’s “Look Good…Feel Better” program once a month in their conference room. The next scheduled program will be held on Monday, April 5 from 2 – 4 PM at the New Port Richey center located at 8763 River Crossing Boulevard, New Port Richey, Florida 34655. “Look Good…Feel Better” is a free group program that teaches beauty techniques to women cancer patients to help them combat the appearance related side effects of treatment. “Look Good…Feel Better” is free and open to all women patients in active treatment, not just Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope patients. Florida Cancer Institute - New Hope to Host Lymphedema Support Group
New Port Richey, Florida – Florida Cancer Institute - New Hope hosts monthly Lymphedema support group meetings at its center at 8763 River Crossing Boulevard, New Port Richey, Florida 34655 on the third Thursday of each month from 3 – 4 PM. The next support group meeting will be held on March 18, 2010.

The Lymphedema support group meetings are planned and conducted by Lindsey Wisniewski, a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant at Community Hospital, the future Medical Center of Trinity. Ms. Wisniewski is a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant with Lymphedema training through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies.
