Mamta T. Choksi, M.D., has completed a Fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at the Department of Medicine, Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. She is Board certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology and Board certified in Internal Medicine (in which she scored in the top decile.).
Dr. Choksi was awarded her medical degree from N.H.L. Municipal Medical College at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India in March of 1997 where she was in the top five of the graduating class of 100. In fact, she ranked tenth among 50,000 examinees in the medical school entrance examination.
Dr. Choksi’s internships and residencies were served at the prestigious Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, Mt. Sinai Services at Queen’s Hospital Center in Jamaica, New York, where she was appointed Chief Medical Resident from July 2001 to June 2002.
Dr. Choksi has received several awards and honors and has been published in a wide range of prestigious medical publications such as Leukemia & Lymphoma, the Mayo Clinic Journal, Hospital Physician, and the Mt. Sinai Journal of Medicine. In 2000, while still serving as a resident, Dr. Choksi was asked to be a presenter at the American College of Gastroenterology’s annual meeting.
She is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Society of Hematology.
During training Dr. Choksi developed a reputation for her volunteerism at a variety of events.
She and her husband, Tarak, have two daughters: Riya and Krisha. Dr. Choksi enjoys travel, cooking and going to the movies.
