Patrick Acevedo, M.D., is Board Certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine. He completed his Oncology and Hematology Fellowship at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey and his Internal Medicine Residency at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. Acevedo received both his undergraduate and Masters degrees in Biology and Genetic Molecular Biology respectively from the University of Hawaii.

Dr. Acevedo’s key areas of interest include prostate and genito-urinary cancers. He is currently a member of US Oncology’s Genitourinary Research Committee and has served as principal investigator for their clinical research trials. Dr. Acevedo has authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters relating to medical oncology.
Dr. Acevedo is a recipient of the AMGEN Fellows Research Award (2004), and the Humanism and Professionalism Award from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (1999). He was a member of the Hobart Amory Hare Honor Medical Society at Jefferson Medical College in 1998 and National Medical Fellow-Bristol Myers-Squibb (1997). He also received the Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Award for research in immunology and oncology in 1990 and 1992.
He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
