Gerald J. Robbins, M.D., is board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. He received his undergraduate education at the State University of New York in New Paltz, and earned his medical degree in 1983 at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. His further medical training included a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Connecticut in Farmington. He served as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Dr. Robbins holds staff privileges at all area hospitals. He has been involved in research projects on drug pharmacology and immunology and group trials dealing with cancer treatment.
Dr. Robbins has been elected president of the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO). He has been a long time member of FLASCO He served two terms as chairman of the Clinical Practice Committee and two years as vice president of the society. Dr. Robbins has also been an active member of the American Cancer Society on both the local and state level. He is also active in the American Society of Clinical Oncology as well as the American Society of Hematology and serves on their clinical practice committee.
Dr. Robbins’s professional associations include the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American College of Physicians, FLASCO, the American Cancer Society, the American Medical Association, the International Academy of Clinical and Applied Thrombosis/Hemostasis and the International Society of Geriatric Oncology. He also serves on the board of directors for the Florida Division of the American Cancer Society.
