Dr. Wright’s philosophy:
Dr. Wright strives to practice state-of-the-art oncology. She firmly believes that this can be practiced close to the patient’s home, but utilizes specialty centers such as Comprehensive Cancer Centers when appropriate. In addition, Dr. Wright wants her patients to be well educated about their diagnosis and treatment so that the patient can actively participate in both decision-making about treatment options, and monitoring for side affects. A team approach to cancer treatment is essential, and Dr. Wright communicates regularly with patients’ referring and specialty physicians, surgeons and radiation oncologists. Ongoing reassessment of the disease and side affects of treatment is done with the goal of maintaining quality of life while going through treatment. Dr. Wright is sensitive to the impact of a cancer diagnosis on the patient and family, and attempts to help the whole family through the process.
